#What is adobe creative cloud desktop update
Why is there a separate update service for Acrobat than the other Adobe products? Why does it need to be running all the time? Granted, some of them are self-explanatory like Adobe Acrobat Update Service but I am about to disable / shutdown ALL of the Adobe services below.īut before I do (and probably screw everything up) will someone please explain in detail what each of these Adobe services do.
It will never change until there is a viable alternative and then Adobe will be gone.
So they've essentially forced everyone to buy every update by making it a 'membership.' Adobe has always been like this and will always be like this.

which oddly enough, at the time it came out, the pricing was almost exactly what it would have been if you bought every update of the software back when they sold it, divided by 12. So first they started changing file extensions so that the older versions wouldn't open the newer versions' file formats. You could buy every third version and be fine. I personally can't wait for the day I can cancel my Creative Crap "membership." For anyone that remembers the days when you could BUY a piece of software, nobody was buying the newer versions of Adobe's products because the improvements were non-existant. I'd like to know how Adobe was even allowed to buy Macromedia and create a monopoly in the design software industry? Only now, years later is some competition finally starting to become viable. some things have to run constantly if you're syncing files, but this is just more of the same old stuff that Adobe has been pulling for years. It's a trick to make the programs feel faster when in reality it's using your system resources constantly - just simply shifting the burden from Adobe engineering to the system resources that you've paid for. rather than fix the slow bloated software, they keep half of it running at all times so it 'appears' to open faster.

It's very important that you only run this after closing all Adobe applications (including Creative Cloud), otherwise it will create issues. I've just created a simple script to run after you are done working with Adobe, with creative cloud, and with uploading/backing up your files.
